Treating Chronic Tendon Pain by Fixing the Problem
The TenJet® system is an ultrasound-guided treatment to target the source of chronic tendon pain-- the damaged and diseased tendon. The technology uses a special two channel needle specifically engineered to deliver a controlled supersonic stream of saline (sterile water) to break up and remove the damaged tissue while leaving the healthy tissue behind. Think of it as "power washing" the tendon!
The TenJet procedure is performed in an outpatient setting right in the office using only local numbing. It's a percutaneous treatment, meaning that it's done through the skin without the need for surgery. The treatment takes about 15 minutes, yet it provides many of the benefits of surgical debridement.
